Manual Therapy

Manual Therapy is a cornerstone of one-on-one care at Physical Therapy and Wellness by Design. This hands-on approach focuses on assessing and treating the body’s joints, muscles, and soft tissues to restore movement, relieve pain, and optimize overall function. Each technique is applied with precision to improve mobility, reduce stiffness, and promote balanced body mechanics.

Manual therapy techniques may include joint mobilizations, manipulations, soft tissue and myofascial release, muscle energy techniques, passive stretching, and Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM). These evidence-based methods help decrease muscle tension, enhance circulation, and restore efficient, pain-free movement patterns.

At Physical Therapy and Wellness by Design, manual therapy is incorporated into a personalized, research-driven plan of care, and all modalities are utilized as and when clinically appropriate and needed. Each treatment session is tailored to the individual — whether addressing acute pain, chronic movement dysfunction, post-surgical rehabilitation, or athletic performance enhancement.

When combined with targeted therapeutic exercise, movement retraining, and patient education, manual therapy supports faster recovery, improved function, and long-term resilience — helping every individual restore, recover, and rebuild with confidence.
